Instagram Gets Group Video Calling Feature Integrated with Messenger Room

Facebook messenger room has already been released and it was promised integration on all Facebook ecosystem i.e. Instagram, Whatsapp & Facebook app. recently Whatsapp beta also got this feature integrated and now Instagram. Instagram twitter handle updated about this feature on 21st May with support of up to participants.

This feature is live now for almost all users who have the latest updated version of Instagram. If you haven’t received this update even after being on the latest version then it’s a good idea to get enrolled in their beta program.

When you will go to the chap option a video icon for starting a video call can be seen. Click on the video icon and you will see the option to start Rooms call with up to 50 people. You can select Contacts to invite and then Messenger Rooms link will be shared with them on DM.




Instagram will ask you to open the room in the Messenger app. If you don’t want more people to enter Room conversation, you can also lock it.

Messenger room has several features that you can’t find in the Instagram video call. These features include face-flattering lighting filters, AR backgrounds, and up to 50 participants. On Instagram, you can only have a video call with up to 6 people.
