LG Electronics has revealed the new flagship smartphone which will be released by the 15th of next month with the brand name LG Velvet. LG also explains the reason behind the unique name. “Velvet” is meant to “evoke images of lustrous smoothness and premium softness.” LG unveiled the LG Velvet logo.
The company is now moving away from its alphanumeric naming schemes. This phone will be different from previous LG phones in many ways.
LG Velvet marks the beginning completely new chapter in the mobile strategy where it will bet on design rather than specs alone to differentiate its products.
The Korean Mobile Giant said that Velvet will be equipped with a “falling raindrops” design, where its three rear cameras and LED flash are placed in descending order by size making a raindrop design. Meanwhile, the sides of the phone will be symmetrically curved. And the best part is you won’t be seeing any camera bump.
LG is also touting a “3D arc design” with curved glass on the front and back of the device, as well as the new phone’s “tactile elegance.”
Some reports claim that LG Velvet will be replacing G-series but we do not have any details regarding the pricing or specs. Some reports suggest that the phone will come with Snapdragon 765 with 5G.
LG smartphones are struggling for a long time to come back. Their G series & V series was also not received very well by customers. If LG smartphones want to compete with the already established smartphone manufacturers then they must adopt aggressive pricing.
